Mayor James A. Restucci

Mayor James A. "Jim" Restucci was elected to the Sunnyside City Council in 2003 and is currently serving his third term. Mayor Restucci has twice served as mayor pro tem: from 2006-2008 and 2009-2010. From January 10, 2010 he was elected as the city's 28th mayor, and served in that capacity until January 9, 2012. On February 11, 2013, he was once again elected to serve the city as mayor, becoming the city's 30th mayor. His current term (Position 6) expires December 31, 2015.

- Vice Chairman, Yakima County Gang Commission

Mayor Restucci is currently serving his second term on the AWC Board of Directors (4th District), representing the cities and towns of: Cle Elum, Ellensburg, Grandview, Granger, Harrah, Kittitas, Mabton, Moxee, Naches, Roslyn, South Cle Elum, Selah, Sunnyside, Tieton, Toppenish, Union Gap, Wapato, Yakima and Zillah. |
| In 2012, Mayor Restucci was elected to the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) Board of Directors (Region XV), representing the Councils of Government (COGs), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPOs) for the states of Oregon and Washington. |

Mayor Restucci has been awarded both the Certificate of Municipal Leadership (2006) and the Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership (2009) from the Association of Washington Cities. In 2012, Mayor Restucci was named the Spirit of Sunnyside Public Official of the Year by the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce.
Professional Life
Mayor Restucci served as a member of the U.S. Army and Washington Army National Guard (AGR) from 1984 to 2004. He is a lifetime member of the Sunnyside Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3482, a members of the Sunnyside AMVETS and is a recipient of the State of Washington Guardsman's Medal for Heroism.
In his professional life, Mayor Restucci is the chief executive officer for Network Operations and co-founder of Axcess Internet Services Inc.
® He is married to DeLeesa Restucci (Hochhalter) and they have two sons, Dylan (20) and Alex (19).
