Car Prowl Suspects Caught
Sunnyside, WA- At about 0145 am this morning Sunnyside Police Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 1200 block of Vista Ave in Sunnyside. Callers stated that the vehicle was pulling into different driveways and then leaving the area. Officer Scott Orate located the vehicle, a 1992 Ford Thunderbird, in the area. Contact with the driver, Crane, Jeffrey DOB 03/27/1968, resulted in an arrest for a warrant out of Zillah PD and Driving with License Suspended 3rd degree. There were two other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The rear passenger, Ochoa, Sergio DOB 11/03/1980 was taken into custody on a warrant issued by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. The front passenger was questioned and released. Further search of the vehicle resulted in Officer Orate and Officer Ryan Bruso finding tools commonly used for burglary and car prowls inside the vehicle. Crane and Ochoa were also booked on charges of Having Burglary Tools RCW 9A.52.060 and transported to the Sunnyside City Jail.
