Assault with a Knife

Sunnyside, WA- Just before 0800 this morning Sunnyside Police responded to an assault with a knife in the Parkland homes area. The suspect, Jaquez Jaquez, Gumercindo and the victim, a 21 year old male Sunnyside resident, got into an altercation at the residence and the victim was stabbed multiple times in the head and neck area. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Jaquez Jaquez was taken into custody at the scene. Upon further investigation the suspect was found to be in possession of a knife and two firearms, which were recovered by Sunnyside Police. He was transported to the Sunnyside City Jail and will be transported to the Yakima County Jail on Monday on charges of Assault 1^st degree and Alien in Possession of a Firearm.
