Assault with a Firearm
Sunnyside, WA- Shortly before midnight Saturday night Sunnyside Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 500 block of N 4th St. Preliminary investigation indicates that two suspects exchanged gunfire within a relatively short distance to each other, one standing in the street and one in the lawn of the residence. One individual was struck in the upper torso. He was privately transported to a local hospital. Officers executed a search warrant at the residence and located and seized 74 ounces of marijuana, scales and a loaded shotgun. City of Sunnyside Code Enforcement was called to the property and it was condemned for various housing violations. The investigation is still on going.
