Hazardous Material

hazmat The Sunnyside Fire Department is proud to announce that the entire department, career and volunteer, are trained to the 1st responder operations level in hazardous materials.

We also spearhead the Yakima County Ammonia Specific Response Team. We have an eight member team which is trained to the technician level in Ammonia and make up a majority of the Yakima County Team. We respond to calls for assistance though-out Yakima County, meeting other team members as may be available to alleviate ammonia releases.
